Overview of Safari/Tour

Our safari will take you to visit Giraffe Manor in the leafy suburb of Karen in the southwest outskirts of the city. You will trek out and explore the Rwanda mountain gorillas, visit several animal sanctuaries, and visit Lake Nakuru National Park. An amazing time will also be had at Maasai Mara Game Reserve! Day 1 Safari/Tour

Rwanda Mountain Gorillas Tracking

You will be picked-up from the airport and driven to Musanze depending on your arrival time. Here you can Visit Kigali Genocide Memorial or you can choose to visit this site on your last day. You will have dinner and spend the night at Volcanoes Boutique.

Day 2 Safari/Tour

First Gorillas Tracking

In the early morning, after breakfast you will drive to RDB’s Office for your registration and Gorilla Tracking Briefings. At this time you will meet your tour guide and take off on your first gorilla trekking excursion. Later in the afternoon you will return to your hotel for lunch and then you visit two twins Lakes Burera and Ruhondo Located in Musanze. In the evening you will return to Five Volcanoes Boutique for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3 Safari/Tour

Second Gorillas Tracking

After an early breakfast you will take off for a spectacular sunrise walk in Tarangire where you will watch the bush come to life. There is no better way to be up close and personal to the wild than to take a walking safari. In the afternoon you have time to relax on your private deck with a cool drink and gaze out at the nearby watering hole watching as the game lazily gather in the shade to escape the midday sun. You may take part in an afternoon game drive and later in the evening embark on a nighttime game drive around the Savannah grassland taking you to encounter nocturnal animals such as lion, leopard, porcupine, civet cat, white tailed mongoose, aardvark and cape hare. The nighttime game drive is one of the most popular and exciting activities on safari. You will return for dinner and your overnight stay at Nimali Camp.

Day 4 Safari/Tour

Rubavu – Kigali

After breakfast you will drive to the airport for your flight to Nairobi. All of today’s activities will depend on your Flight time to Kenya. This tour package includes Kenya Safaris and Two days of gorilla trekking in Rwanda

Day 5 Safari/Tour

Giraffe Manor

You will be met at the airport and driven to Giraffe Manor in the leafy suburb of Karen. You will have 1 night to relax at this charming and comfortable country house hotel. You will meet and feed the rare Rothschild giraffe for which it is famous and do as many (or as few) excursions in the area as you like. A vehicle and driver will be at your disposal. Later in the day, you will drive to Sopa Lodge Nakuru for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6 Safari/Tour

Sweet waters Game Sanctuary

After breakfast you will check-out and travel to Sweet waters in the secluded heart of Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve. Here, these magnificent beasts are given sanctuary from those who would take their lives to sell their horns. The Jane Goodall Institute operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where you will meet primates face to- face. Your camp also overlooks one of the busiest waterholes in the area and offers some amazing views of elephant, giraffe as well as a myriad of other plains game. This is Africa as Teddy Roosevelt saw it years ago when he led one of the first safaris to tour Africa in comfort and splendor. Our tents at Sweetwater will remind you of this bygone era. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Sweet waters Tented Camp.

Day 7 Safari/Tour

Explore Sweetwater Game Sanctuary

After breakfast you will get a closer look at the conservancy during two extensive game runs. On the plains enormous herds of grazing animals plus predators including cheetah and black-maned lion can be found hiding amidst acacia trees. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience! Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including the non-indigenous chimpanzee, the rare endangered black rhino, ostrich, zebra, oryx and hartebeest. Later in the day you will return to Sweet waters Tented Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 8 Safari/Tour

Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast Lake Nakuru National Park is your destination for the day. The park’s lake is well known for the hundreds of thousands of pink flamingo that gather along the shoreline. Your journey will take you through the Great Rift Valley; stopping at one of the highest towns in Kenya, Nyahururu at an elevation of 7700 foot. The main attraction here is the 236 foot Thomson Falls. Part of the Ewaso Nyiro River, these cascading falls tumble to the thick forest below. After lunch at our lodge, an afternoon game drive will take you to see both the white and black rhino, Rothschild giraffe and the elusive leopard here. Later in the evening you will have dinner and your overnight stay at the Sopa Lodge Nakuru.

Day 9 Safari/Tour

Lake Nakuru National Park – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After an early breakfast you will check out and take off on an exciting game drive on your way to Maasai Mara. A pleasant drive across the dramatic Great Rift Valley brings you to Narok Township, a Maasai business centre. After a short stop-over you will continue on to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. This enormous Reserve is part of the vast Serengeti plains; famously known for it’s spectacular great wildebeest migration and home to the “Big Five”, lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will have lunch and then take off on an exciting afternoon game drive; returning for an enjoyable dinner and your overnight stay at camp.

Day 10 Safari/Tour

Explore Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast you will spend the day in the Maasai Mara, one of the greatest wildernesses of the world! You will take part in a morning and afternoon game drive where you will see large numbers of wild game. Residents among the park are giraffe, eland, topi and thousands of plains game including impala, zebra, and gazelles. There is an optional hot-air balloon ride or a trip to Lake Victoria for fishing available at an additional cost while in the Mara. On your final evening you will take part in a Bush Sundowner – a glorious al fresco cocktail party overlooking the savannah at sunset. You will have dinner and your overnight stay at Mara Sarova Game Lodge/ Base Camp Explorer.

Day 11 Safari/Tour

Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi

You will rise early and take off for your last sunrise game drive before returning to the camp/lodge for a proper sit down English breakfast. After breakfast you will check-out and drive to Nairobi where you will check-in the hotel for dayroom use where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure for take part in some last minute shopping and sightseeing. In the evening, you will be driven to the airport for your flight home. This is where your safari will end.
